  • 2025 Board Member Service Level Agreement

    Thank you for volunteering to serve on the Seattle SHRM Board for the 2025 calendar year. This agreement outlines the expectations for your role as a board member.

    1. General Expectations:
      1. Maintain Seattle SHRM membership in good standing throughout your term.
      2. Participate in the annual Strategic Planning meeting, typically held in January.
      3. Develop and complete annual goals for your board position by year-end. Reach out to the Board President for assistance if needed.

    2. Meeting Participation:
      1. You are expected to attend at least 80% of monthly Chapter and Board meetings. If unable to attend, inform the President and Secretary in advance. Failure to meet this commitment may lead to a review of your position on the board.
      2. You will give a report on your area of responsibility quarterly, on a rotating basis, or more frequently if needed. You are encouraged to present proposals for new initiatives and update the board on the progress of your projects and goals. If you are absent, submit your updates via email before the meeting.

    3. Event and Communication Responsibilities:
      1. Be on-time and ready to engage at all Seattle SHRM functions.
      2. If you cannot fulfill your duties at an event, arrange for coverage in advance.
      3. Cancel any in-person event registration in a timely manner if you cannot attend.
      4. Respond promptly and professionally to all Chapter-related communications. If you will be unavailable due to travel or medical reasons, notify the President and Secretary in advance and designate a backup for your responsibilities.

    Note: the Board President may grant exceptions to these guidelines as needed.
