2025 WSRA Recycler of the Year Nomination Form

The WSRA recognizes people, businesses, programs, and organizations that demonstrate innovation and leadership in the field of waste reduction, recycling and reuse in Washington State. Recycler of the Year recipients are selected by committee and are showcased at the organization’s annual conference. The 2025 conference will be May 19th-21st at Northern Quest Casino Resort in Airway Heights, WA. Award winners will receive a free one-day conference registration and a free ticket to the evening gala on May 21st. They are invited to speak to the entire conference that morning and then are celebrated at the conference gala in the evening on the last night of the conference.

The WSRA also recognizes exceptional individual and long-term contributions to the recycling industry in Washington.

Recycler of the Year - Individual: An individual whose actions have significantly furthered recycling and waste prevention beyond the normal scope of their responsibilities. The winner of this award is kept secret and announced at the conference. If you are nominating someone for this award, you will be expected to present their achievements as part of the surprise announcement.Recycling Hall of Fame: An individual who has made outstanding long-term (15-20 year) contributions to recycling in Washington.

Nomination

The WSRA Awards Committee is looking for nominations that demonstrate commitment to the recycling and waste reduction industry, show evidence of environmental benefits, reflect equity principles, are transferable to other communities or organizations, and display innovation and leadership in the field in Washington State.
Provide a summary of why this person or entity is being nominated. What is noteworthy, unique, or particularly successful about this individual or this organization's contribution to recycling and environmental protection? Include specific examples, descriptions, and inspirational and/or amusing anecdotes about your nominee, project, or program. This is your opportunity to demonstrate why your nominee is award worthy!
What has been accomplished and how was success demonstrated? Be sure to explain the environmental benefit to its community or organization and the demonstrated commitment to furthering the goals of recycling, waste reduction, and/or sustainable materials management in Washington State.
How has the work described been shared and transferred to other communities or organizations?
How was equity incorporated into the project/work?
