The WSPA Board of Trustees welcomes nominations from its members, carefully evaluates each submission, and selects the award recipients. Winners will be recognized at a special awards ceremony during the WSPA Fall Convention on Saturday, October 24.
Please note that the nomination statement must be authored by the person submitting the nomination.
Distinguished Scholar Award
This award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to psychological research or academic scholarship that enhances access to the field of psychology. It is open to both members and non-members.
Rising Star Award
This award is presented to a pre-licensed individual who has demonstrated a strong commitment to public service and shows exceptional promise as a psychologist in training. It is open to both members and non-members.
Sustained Service Award
This award honors individuals whose many years of practice have significantly benefited the communities they have served. It is open to WSPA members only.
Dr. Ruth Ullman Paige Collective Change Award
This award recognizes a group or organization that has shown outstanding dedication to advancing psychological health for marginalized communities. It is open to both members and non-members.
Public Steward Award
This award honors an individual who has made a notable contribution to the psychological health and well-being of their community. It is open to non-members only.
G. Andrew H. Benjamin Award
Named in honor of Dr. Benjamin, a Seattle-based JD/PhD provider who has demonstrated continuous service and dedication to the professional development of others. This award recognizes a WSPA member, board or staff member, or intern who, like Dr. Benjamin, has generously contributed their time, creativity, and service to the growth and ongoing success of WSPA. It is open to all members, board and staff members, and interns.
WSPA Annual Committee Leadership Award
This recipient is nominated and selected by the Board of Trustees. It was created by the WSPA board of trustees to recognize a WSPA member who has demonstrated outstanding work on a committee over the past year.
