The Texas Chapter Laureate Award honors Fellows and Masters of ACP who have demonstrated a commitment to excellence in medical care, education, research, and service to their communities, Chapter, and the College. In addition, the awardees should have served their Chapter with distinction.
The Bluebonnet Award honors a woman in medicine who cultivates and elevates women in Texas through opportunities for engagement, promotion, education, mentoring and advocacy for women in medicine. The Bluebonnet Award includes a travel stipend supporting the winner's travel to the following ACP National Internal Medicine Meeting.
The Early Career Physician of the Year Award honors an active ACP member with high leadership skills, who is respected among their peers and in practice following residency/fellowship. Recipients of this award will be recognized for their outstanding achievement in the areas of academics, leadership and/or advocacy for the field of internal medicine. An early career physician includes physician members who are within 16 years of completion of medical school.
The Snyder/Chumley Advocate of the Year Award is presented by TXACP Services, the advocacy arm of the Texas Chapter of the ACP, to a chapter member who has demonstrated outstanding leadership in the areas of legislative advocacy and grassroots activism.
The Texas Chapter Volunteerism and Community Service Award recognizes a member for significant community impact through their medically related volunteer service, independent of training or position requirements. Recipients of this award have distinguished themselves as true humanitarians to be honored for their voluntary contributions in medicine.
The Resilience Award honors Members, Fellows, and Masters of the ACP who have demonstrated particularly commendable perseverance throughout their career and have experienced unique hardship that is to be admired by their communities, Chapters, and the ACP. Recipients will be offered an opportunity to share career reflections portraying their experiences on diversity, equity, and inclusion as it pertains to their journey in medicine.
