Welcome to the 2026 WLA Conference!
We’re thrilled to have you join us in Yakima, WA, a region known for its vibrant apple orchards and rich cultural heritage, for an unforgettable experience of learning, collaboration, and inspiration with library professionals from across Washington.
Dates: Thursday, April 16th – Saturday, April 18th, 2026
Location: Yakima Valley Convention & Event Center
Why “Cultivating Communities”?
The Washington Library Association exists to strengthen libraries and empower the people who serve them. In a time of shifting resources, evolving technologies, and growing community needs, our work is more vital than ever.
This year’s theme, Cultivating Communities, reflects WLA’s commitment to helping libraries not only adapt but thrive. Like Yakima’s fertile valleys—where apple trees flourish and orchards stretch across the horizon—libraries are places where ideas take root and grow, nourished by collaboration, creativity, and connection.
Just as a mosaic is made stronger and more beautiful by its many pieces, our communities thrive when diverse voices and perspectives come together. By joining us, you’ll be part of a statewide movement to share knowledge, spark innovation, and cultivate the relationships that sustain our profession. Together, we’ll explore what makes libraries resilient and how we can continue to build stronger, more connected communities across Washington.
