  • REQUIRED: The Pro Shop Member Code of Conduct

The Pro Shop code of conduct places its staff, members and guests in a unique position of trust, requiring standards of ethical behavior that reflect organizational expectations. Underpinning principles are: Integrity Respect Accountability The Pro Shop Code of Conduct prohibits harassment or offensive conduct in any form toward any employee, member, vendor, contractor, guest or their relatives, friends or associates. The Pro Shop is committed to ensuring professional work, meeting, and event settings free of disrespectful and unlawful harassment. Association policy therefore prohibits harassment because of race, sex, religion, national origin or ancestry, physical or mental disability, medical condition, marital status, gender, sexual orientation or any other basis protected by federal, state or local law. All such harassment is unlawful. Our Code of Conduct policy applies to staff, all Pro Shop members in every category of membership, and to exhibitors and all attendees at our programs, tournaments and events. A person who believes s/he is being subjected to harassment should take steps without delay to have the problem resolved. In some situations, the harassment can be handled informally by discussing the issues with the person involved. A complainant should make it known to the harasser that the behavior is unwelcome. If the complainant is not comfortable communicating with the harasser, or if the communication does not stop the harassment, the complainant may request that an intermediary communicate the problem to the harasser. Intermediaries might include, but are not limited to, co- workers or peers, The Pro Shop Chief Operating Officer (COO), The Pro Shop officers and/or any member of The Pro Shop Board of Directors. If these options do not resolve the problem and a person believes that s/he has been harassed, the individual should provide a written complaint to The Pro Shop President, to any member of the Executive Committee, or to the COO. A complaint should include details of the incident or incidents, names of individuals involved and names of any witnesses. The Pro Shop will immediately undertake effective, thorough and objective investigation of the harassment allegations. All such complaints or questions will be kept in confidence to the extent consistent with The Pro Shop’s need to investigate the complaint and address the situation. If The Pro Shop determines that harassment has occurred, effective remedial action will be taken in accordance with the circumstances involved. Any member, exhibitor or attendee determined by The Pro Shop to be responsible for harassment will be subject to appropriate disciplinary action, up to and including termination of membership, loss of exhibitor privileges, and/or filing of a police report. Whatever action is taken against the harasser will be made known to the complainant and The Pro Shop will neither retaliate against any complainant nor permit retaliation by its members. The Pro Shop encourages all members to report any incidents of harassment forbidden by this policy immediately so that complaints can be quickly and fairly resolved. Both Federal and State governments investigate and prosecute complaints of illegal harassment. Persons who believe they have been harassed or retaliated against for resisting or complaining should file a complaint with the appropriate agency.
