Program Overview
We are thrilled to announce a unique opportunity for up to four exceptional Texas medical students to take on the role of Ambassadors with our program. As an Ambassador, you will play a pivotal role in fostering communication, promoting program initiatives, and spearheading recruitment efforts aimed at showcasing internal medicine as a career path for other inspiring medical students. Your responsibilities will include actively engaging in chapter program communications, executing promotional strategies, and contributing to the recruitment endeavors that support our mission. Given that our primary mode of communication is via email, it is important that you maintain regular access to your email address used on the application.
Student Ambassadors will work within the Texas Chapter of the ACP branding guidelines to develop and produce creative social media content that promotes TXACP and internal medicine in innovative and engaging ways. They will help increase engagement across all relevant platforms, provide feedback and insight into the chapter social media experience, evaluate the effectiveness of social media strategies, and actively participate in larger conversations across our chapter social media platforms.
Our ideal student Ambassador will be well-versed in the social media landscape and bring new ideas and understand how to connect with other members of the chapter.
Key Responsibilities
Students will be tasked with producing, filming/shooting, and editing at least one content piece per week. These could include, IG story takeover, photo series, reels, and event coverage, etc. Possible content categories include ACP published hot topics, involvement in your schools IMIG and its relevant meetings, showcasing various student opportunities, and attending events such as the TXACP Annual Meeting and other ancillary events.
Other responsibilities onsite at the TXACP Annual Scientific meeting to be determined.
Dates of Ambassadorship
We will have two cycles. Your application will allow you the opportunity to be accepted into one of the cycles. Cycle 1 will run from November 2026 - April 2027. Cycle 2 will run from April 2027 - November 2027. These dates are subject to change.
Incentives
Ambassadors will receive a stipend worth $5,000 per student. Other benefits include networking opportunities and travel and lodging* to the Texas Chapter Annual Scientific Meeting taking place November 14-15 2026, in Plano, TX
*All applicable travel expenses will be consistent with State of Texas guidelines. More details to follow.
Eligibility
Any Texas medical student enrolled in a Texas medical school who has a unique story to tell, and public social media accounts is eligible to apply.

Minimum Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in a Texas medical school
- Must be a TXACP Member
- Passion for internal medicine
- Previous participation in the GIMSPP program is highly sought after
- Participation in your schools Internal Medicine Interest Group is desired
- Active social media presence and proven record of creating engaging social media content
- Ability to submit at least one piece of content a week
- Attend any Student Ambassador trainings or check-in meetings
- Interest in helping shape member social media engagements and initiatives
- Desire to actively participate in larger conversations across social media
- Excellent time management skills
- Attendance at the TXACP Annual Scientific Meeting in November
- Available for the entire 2026-2027 ambassadorship cycle timeline
Next Steps
Applications for cycle 1 will be open until August 14 and the chosen ambassadors will be contacted via email after that date for next steps.
